Topics: Cover Crops, Biodiversity,

How horticultural and commodity farmers use cover crops differently.

Starting in the winter of 2012–13, the Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) program and the Conservation Technology Information Center (CTIC) surveyed U.S. farmers about their cover crop experiences. This study, written by Rob Myers and Joseph LaRose, shares results from these surveys, focusing on why these two groups use cover crops, their methods, and the benefits they see. It aims to thoroughly analyze collected data over several years to understand the importance and effects of cover crops in various farming practices.
