The food, clothing, and beverage choices made by consumers all have an impact on the future direction of agriculture, in part by shaping demand that guides industry investments.  Many major food and agriculture companies in the U.S. are putting greater emphasis on sustainable and regenerative approaches, and some of the clothing and beverage companies are also making this a priority. 

Major companies can play a role not only through financial incentives offered to growers but also by contributing to education programs for farmers and consumers alike.  The more we all understand how to achieve our collective societal goals, the sooner we’ll have food production systems that reflect those goals.  Encouraging appropriate government support for regenerative approaches is also important as farm and conservation policies have a major influence on farmer management choices.
