Specialty crops research (e.g., chestnut, elderberry) enhancing agroforestry product market development

Michael A. Gold, PhD is a Research Professor of Forestry in the School of Natural Resources.  His scholarship contributes to the growing evidence of the benefits of using agroforestry practices to improve the sustainability of producer livelihoods and reduce negative environmental impacts.  He conducts specialty crop research to assess the potential for agroforestry products to become viable horticultural crops for producers in Missouri and the Midwest. He coordinates the Center’s online agroforestry graduate education programs and is active in their outreach programming.
